I have been through the advice on subtitles at google for Format Factory, and have been able in many cases to fix the subtitle problem with the advanced setting, although not always-- often I get the commentary rather than the literal subtitles.
So I am curious what " trustable " free Blu-Ray ( especially ) and DVD burning programs are available besides Format Factory for free download . ( I am pretty handy, and know how to do custom installs to avoid unwanted sideware .)
I convert this using the program " Format Factory " ( v 2.20 ) and it seems to work fine except that no matter what settings i have, i convert to . avi or . mpg and it will give the top of the video this little area where the data is scrambled.
I've been looking for a free program that converts these to popular standards like . avi, . mpg, or divx formats ( partly so that i can also reduce the file size ( quality ) a bit ! ) I tried using something called " Format Factory " but they have an issue where any video converted from dvr-ms format has a small top section scrambled.
I'm not sure if there's really any better choice than H264 for the video and AAC for the audio which I suspect the file already if it's MP4 ( although you'll probably want HE-AAC which it may not be ) but you could probably get a watchable 3 minute video for less than 6.9MB . Whether you can with'Format Factory'( whatever that is ) I have no idea.
